Samuel Downer Esq:,
Dear Sir,
Rev. A. P. Putnam D.D., a native of Danvers, formaly[sic] settled in Roxbury, now a Unitarian minister in Brooklyn N.Y., is spending the summer in Beverly. He was a "Free Soiler of 1848", and a life-long friend of Sumner's.
I think that he would like to attend your reunion, if it is agreeable to you to send him an in-vitation.
Yours very truly,
Wm. Endicott Jr.
