Dear Mr. Downer
I cordially accept your invitation to meet with the Free Soilers of 1848 and intend to be at the Landing if I am alive, at the time mentioned in your note. Allow me to suggest that if you have no done so already that you extend an invitation to Mr Henry Guild of the firm of Guild and Delano of this city and also to Mr John Curtis Clothing dealer on Union St. I know that both would be glad to be present and they are true blue men of those that were out in the 48
Yours Very Truly
Thomas Drew
