My Dear Sir.

Your kind invitation to attend a reunion of the "Old Guard" of '48 on the 9th inst[sic], is received and circumstances permitting, it will afford me supreme pleasure to avail myself of your generous hospitality, and mingle once again with the noble band, who though few, were fearless and faithful to the great cause of "Free Speech Free Soil and Free Men",
