My Dear Friend, -
I received your kind note yesterday inviting me to attend a reunion of <insertion:the> Free Soilers of 1848, at Melville Gardens on Thursday the ninth day of Augt[sic]. It will give me great pleasure to meet you and others of the old Free Soilers. I thank you kindly for the invitation
