In this letter, at the request of Francis William Bird, Thomas Drew offers Samuel Downer three more names of Free Soilers to invite to the Reunion of the Free Soil Party: Nathan Allen, George E. Allen, and Joseph Allen. The letter is written on "The Herald" letterhead and near the top of the page the word "No" is underlined.

Dear Sir

At the request of our mutual friend Hon F. W. Bird I write to inform you that Nath Allen Esqr [sic] principal of the Classical School at West Newton and his brother Geo. E. Allen Pres. of the City Council were both "out in the 48."  They are original "Free Soilers" and their P.O. address is West Newton

P.S.  Mr Joseph Allen of West Newton was also a Free Soiler in 1848 and went to the Buffalo Convention. He is an influential citizen and has been Supt of Westboro Reform School
